What you get by text, how often, and how to stop.
You opt in by sending a text from your own phone to (917) 540-4462: the word HANDOFF, or simply what you need done ("55-inch TV, this wall, Saturday morning"). That number is published only on this site. Our first reply confirms it: "Handoff: thanks for texting. We'll reply here about your job: price, booking, day-of updates and your receipt. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help." After that we reply about that job only: your price and booking link, confirmations, day-of updates (your pro is on the way, has arrived, is done), your receipt, and a request to rate your pro. Typically 3 to 10 messages per job. No promotional messages, ever. There is no web form, list or other way we collect a customer's number.
A pro opts in one of two ways: by texting (917) 540-4462 with their trade and where they work, or in person or by phone with a Handoff team member, who records the pro's name, mobile number, the date and their agreement before any text is sent. The first text identifies Handoff, says it is a paid job offer, and includes STOP instructions; the pro confirms by replying YES. Each offer names the job, the window and the pay; reply YES to take it or NO to pass. Jobs you accept bring day-of coordination messages. No promotional messages.
Reply STOP at any time to opt out; reply START to opt back in. Reply HELP for help, or text us anything and a person replies; you can also call the same number. Message and data rates may apply.
